Where to look
The scrapping industry prices can be found online. Scrap Register and Scrapmonster provide information about the metal scrapping market. These services are not free.
Another web-based service is the iScrap app. It gives you options to view average prices and localized scrap metal prices. In the search box, you can type in your zip code. You will see a map showing any scrap yards located within your area.
Clicking on an icon within the map will bring up prices specific to the location with the date they were recorded.
If you don’t subscribe to their premium service, the free information will be outdated by months. Subscribing to their premium service is a good idea if you’re in scrapping and really need the information. They might be available to help you with your business.
